The Helsinki Ice Hall, more commonly known as Nordis, HIFK's The Kotiluola is one of Finland's most famous multi-purpose arenas. With a capacity of up to 8,200 spectators, it creates an environment for top-level SM-liiga for matches, concerts, and other public events. The system project implemented in 2025 brought the arena's technology into a new era by providing a comprehensive digital scoreboard system.

At the core of the project was the renovation of the existing scoreboard system for the display cube. The new system solution enables even more precise and flexible presentation of match data to the audience. The overall solution also included the control of an external buzzer, which was seamlessly integrated into the system, ensuring precise synchronisation of game situations.

The system also included WiseHockey yes MTV3/Katsomo – Shipping integrations. With the WiseHockey integration, the scoreboard and data are in sync with WiseHockey in real time. With MTV3 and Katsomo integration, match clock data is produced directly from the Jidoka system, ensuring that the content viewed both on-site and in home viewing situations is fully synchronised.

Internal communications within the arena were enhanced by installing 17 dressing room screens, which provide up-to-date information for teams and event organisers. This supports efficient operations during events and improves the user experience behind the scenes.

The implementation has elevated Nordenskiöld's technological foundation to a new level. The result is an even smarter arena that serves sports professionals, media operators, and the public alike.
