Medialiiga Uusikaupunki – A Memorable Advertising Display
Jidoka has installed a new, impressive advertising screen for Medialiiga in Uusikaupunki to strengthen regional visibility and reach.
A 15 m² display is strategically located on the main road leading to Uusikaupunki, approximately two kilometres before the town's retail hub. The location has been carefully considered, as it captures attention at precisely the right moment when visitors are passing by or heading for their shopping.
What makes the location particularly valuable is its traffic position. Traffic arriving from the direction of Kalanti and Laitila is directed straight past the screen, which guarantees high frequency and a large number of viewers. The advertising screen thus acts as an effective gateway to Uusikaupunki, reaching both locals and visitors arriving from a wider area.
From Medialiiga's perspective, the target strengthens their network's coverage of the growing traffic flows on the west coast. The result is a memorable advertising screen that creates an attractive option for advertisers.
A new LED advertising screen has been installed for Medialiiga in Lieto. The municipality of Lieto is a new addition to Medialiiga's advertising network.
The board was placed on the wall of the Säästöpankki in Lieto's town centre, facing Highway 10, offering excellent visibility to the area's traffic and town centre visitors. The low speed limits in the town centre increase the attention-grabbing value of advertising and enable effective visibility of content. Longer viewing times due to slow driving also improve ad recall.
The result was a stylish 6m2 LED advertising display in a central location in the centre of Lieto, enhancing the area's visibility and offering Lieto businesses an effective way to reach people on the move, round the clock.
Jidoka installed a new advertising screen for Medialiiga in Konala, Helsinki, on the wall of a GoWash car wash, replacing the old screen solution. Medialiiga's old screen needed an update, so it was replaced with a more precise LED screen, which offers even better visibility for advertising content.
The new LED screen ensures good visibility from afar, and thanks to the screen's brightness, content stands out effectively at all times of the day. The modern screen enables high-quality and eye-catching outdoor advertising in a busy urban environment.
The screen's location is excellent, as many different businesses operate in its vicinity and the Ristikko shopping centre is located right next door. Additionally, the screen is also near a busy intersection, which guarantees high visibility for both motorists and other passers-by.
Konala's new screen brings a modern and highly visible media surface to the area, which naturally blends into the bustling city environment. The site offers advertisers the opportunity to reach a large number of daily passers-by effectively and in a visually striking way. With the refurbishment, Medialiiga's visibility in Konala has risen to a new level, and at the same time, the area has gained an even higher quality outdoor advertising solution.
Jidoka has installed an LED pylon implementation for Media Vista on the Savonlinna market square. Media Vista is a media network company focusing on advertising and digital signage solutions, offering advertising visibility to businesses.
A 75-inch LED display with P2.5 resolution offers bright and clear visibility in a prime location adjacent to a busy market square.
The pylon implementation was designed to be an aesthetically pleasing and eye-catching modern display surface that effectively reaches people moving around the market square as well as passers-by in the area. Modern LED technology enables high-quality and easily visible content in all weather and lighting conditions.
The Savonlinna market square destination is an excellent addition to Media Vistas digital network. The square's LED pylon brings a new, modern advertising surface to the area to support the visibility of companies and events.
A two-sided LED roadside display was implemented for Medialiiga by Jidoka in Valkeakoski. The roadside display was located along Lempääläntie, near the centre of Valkeakoski.
A bus route that is in active use is a brilliant location for an advertising screen, as large numbers of cars and pedestrians pass by the screen daily. A double-sided screen ensures that attention is drawn to the screens from both directions. Changing advertisements effectively catch the eye, and the roadside screen's location is an excellent opportunity for advertisers, as Valkeakoski's grocery stores and shops are located very close to the screen.
The new media surface on Lempääläntie is a visible and modern addition to Valkeakoski's urban landscape. Its busy traffic, central location, and double-sided design make it an effective channel for businesses and campaigns in the area.

Jidoka has again implemented a new roadside screen for Medialiiga on Pansiontie in Turku, a visible location close to the Port of Turku. The site is located along the traffic heading towards Raisio, making it an excellent location for effective outdoor advertising.
A large 15 m² LED screen reaches a high volume of motorists and other traffic on a busy route daily. The screen's location near the port and Ruissalo further enhances its visibility, as the area sees a lot of local traffic as well as passengers and freight passing through the port. Ruissalo, particularly popular in the summer, attracts visitors, so the busy summer traffic from the city centre to Ruissalo further increases visibility in the area, making the roadside screen a particularly effective advertising spot, even during peak seasons.
The property in Pansio will bring a new visible advertising surface to the Turku region and offers advertisers an effective way to reach a mobile audience in a developing area.

Football scoreboard – Project Liv Arena
Main scoreboard and a small scoreboard in opposite corners and 2 x 32m perimeter displays on the long side.
In 2025, a brand-new stadium opened in the heart of Pietarsaari, Project Liv Areena. The new arena provides a magnificent setting for all sorts of sporting events as well as cultural experiences. The arena has been built to meet the requirements of top-level football and Jidoka was able to complete the arena with a striking and modern digital main football scoreboard, a smaller scoreboard, and pitchside displays.
An arena with a capacity of up to 3600 spectators required a large digital scoreboard for good visibility from all seats. The scoreboard was therefore installed in a corner of the arena, fixed to the wall, allowing for wide visibility. A smaller scoreboard was placed in the opposite corner to the main scoreboard, ensuring that the entire arena can clearly see the game situations. The scoreboards keep spectators up-to-date with the game's progress, and with the scoreboard information positioned at the edge of the screen, eye-catching sponsor advertisements and other atmosphere-enhancing media files, such as goal videos, can be displayed in the centre of the screen. The screens thus serve as a versatile media surface both during and outside of games.
The perimeter LED boards (perimeter displays) surrounding the pitch form a total continuous length of 62 metres. The high resolution makes them particularly effective for moving images and advertising content, which are clearly visible to the audience and throughout the arena. They give the stadium a modern and dynamic appearance that changes according to the situation and event. The perimeter displays can also show scoreboard information, ensuring that no one will miss the game's progress by accident.
The comprehensive display system elevates the arena's experiences to a whole new level. With them, the arena can adapt to different situations and events, creating an unforgettable experience.

Helsingin Jäähalli (Ice Rink) – Scoreboard system
Media cube results board system, 17 changing room screens, buzzers, WiseHockey and MTV3 Katsomo integrations.
Helsingin jäähalli (Ice Rink), more commonly known as Nordis, HIFK's "home cave" is one of Finland's most famous multi-purpose arenas. With a capacity of up to 8,200 spectators, it creates an environment for top-level Finnish Hockey League for matches, concerts, and other public events. The system project implemented in 2025 brought the arena's technology into a new era by providing a comprehensive digital scoreboard system.
At the core of the project was the renovation of the existing scoreboard system for the display cube. The new system solution enables even more precise and flexible presentation of match data to the audience. The overall solution also included the control of an external buzzer, which was seamlessly integrated into the system, ensuring precise synchronisation of game situations.
The system also included WiseHockey and MTV3/Katsomo – Shipping integrations. With the WiseHockey integration, the scoreboard and data are in sync with WiseHockey in real time. With MTV3 and Katsomo integration, match clock data is produced directly from the Jidoka system, ensuring that the content viewed both on-site and in home viewing situations is fully synchronised.
Internal communications within the arena were enhanced by installing 17 dressing room screens, which provide up-to-date information for teams and event organisers. This supports efficient operations during events and improves the user experience behind the scenes.
The implementation has elevated Nordis' technological foundation to a new level. The result is an even smarter arena that serves sports professionals, media operators, and the public alike.
The Tikkurilan Kuljetusrinki (Transport Ring Arena), located in the Tikkurilan urheilupuisto (Sports Park) in Vantaa, has been equipped with a brand-new scoreboard system from Jidoka. The arena is a versatile ice sports centre that hosts a wide range of matches and events at various levels, including the Mestis league. The hall is home to Kiekko Vantaa.
The ice rink's centre-hung scoreboard was in need of an upgrade, so we delivered a scoreboarding system designed for ice hockey to the existing centre-hung scoreboard. The updated system allows for clear and real-time presentation of match data, as well as flexible content management for the needs of various events.
A WiseHockey integration was implemented into the system, enabling real-time synchronisation of the match status and clock with WiseHockey. The match status is continuously forwarded, ensuring the data and scoreboard remain in sync. In addition, an integration for the Finnish Ice Hockey Federation (SJL) has also been brought into the system, through which match-related information, such as line-ups and player lists, can be obtained.
As an innovative addition, AI-based announcements were created, meaning the system automatically generates announcement text from events and repeats it as speech. The announcements work with SJL data so that the announcements contain the correct player information. AI-based announcements can automate part of the match event's communication and provide fast and consistent announcements.
The ice rink changing rooms also received a total of 7 changing room screens, which can be used to display game schedules and other important information for teams and officials. In addition, a separate screen was installed for the field staff, which provides a centralised view of the status of both Rink 1 and Rink 2. This makes it easy to, for example, monitor the progress of matches being played simultaneously in both rinks.

The solution is widely suitable for various uses and can be utilised in over ten different sports as well as a wide range of events.
A digital scoreboard brings structure and rhythm to events: it directs the audience's attention to what's essential, supports announcements with visual content, and enables the presentation of both informative and entertaining material within the same framework. A mobile implementation increases usability, as the screen can always be placed in the most optimal location for the event.
As a whole LED cart , it functions as an effective and flexible scoreboard, combining mobility and clear information dissemination. This brings visibility to events and improves the audience experience by providing up-to-date and easy-to-follow content.

Jidoka provided Medialiiga with an impressive roadside digital billboard in a central location in Kirkkonummi, along a busy route. The 15 m² LED screen, situated on a slope, stands out effectively from its surroundings and offers a visible advertising space for passing traffic.
A one-sided display particularly reaches the traffic flow heading away from the centre, including drivers travelling to the Kirkkonummi swimming hall and Jokirinne school, as well as other members of the public moving in the area. The location makes the display surface an effective channel for local and regional outdoor advertising.
The height differences of the gentle slope and the visible placement add extra power to the display, as the content is easily noticeable even when approaching from further away. The large LED surface allows for bright and dynamic content that attracts attention at all times of the day.
The Kirkkonummi destination strengthens the Medialiiga media network and offers advertisers a new, impactful location to reach people on the move daily. The result is a modern roadside display that fits impressively into its surroundings, combining visibility, high-quality execution, and effective advertising.
Medialiiga Oy -A striking roadside display was implemented on Uusiporvoontie in Sipoo. 10m2 The large and single-sided display quickly grabs the attention of passing motorists and pedestrians with its changing and bright content.
The roadside display was placed near busy roads on the edge of a forest. Thanks to its large display area, the advertising content stands out from afar and effectively reaches people moving in the area. The strategic location near Söderkulla's grocery stores offers advertisers valuable visibility and the opportunity to reach consumers at precisely the right moment.
The aim of the solution was to combine effective visibility and high-quality execution in a central location. The result is a modern and eye-catching display surface that serves the needs of both Medialiiga and regional advertisers well into the future.

In the centre of the main scoreboard, small scoreboards at the ends, basketball shot clocks and backboard LED strips.
Located in Rauma, Karin Kampus In 2024, a significant complex was completed, representing the largest construction project in the city's history. Approximately 1500 m² of sports hall space has been built at the site, serving as a versatile environment for various sporting events, such as basketball and floorball.
Impressive digital scoreboards have been installed at the venue, bringing a modern visual look and significantly improving the traceability of events. An LED screen measuring approximately 28 m², facing the spectators, offers excellent visibility throughout the hall, and its P3 resolution ensures a sharp and detailed image for match information as well as other media content. The gymnasium also received smaller screens (1.9 m²) on the end walls, which can be used to display various media content and scoreboard information.
The solutions enable versatile use in different situations: displaying real-time match information, advertising and information content, and visually impressive elements during events. This makes the sports hall even more attractive to both users and the audience.
Karin Campus's scoreboards are a compact yet effective unit that supports a modern sports environment and elevates the event experience to a new level.
Medialiiga has received a new roadside display from Jidoka in Loviisa, along Helsingintie. Helsingintie is a busy and central route in Loviisa, and it serves as the city's main entrance road.
The facade display was implemented as a double-sided screen, so it attracts attention from traffic moving in both directions. The large 12m2 screens are visible from a long distance and thus effectively attract the attention of passers-by. A heavily used road is a valuable advertising space, as an immeasurable number of passing eyes travel past the screen.
Another new addition has been successfully made to the Medialiiga advertising network. The eye-catching LED screen leverages both location and efficiency in an impressive way, making it a valuable asset for advertisers.
We carried out work in Leppävaara, Espoo – Warrior Areena , scoreboard solutions for both rinks. The scoreboards are also attached to large and visible 1m2 size ringette clock display solutions, to which the attack time is visible and extended. The ice rink is actively used by, among others, young ice hockey players, ringette teams, and figure skaters.
The new results display system allows for versatile use of the space outside of matches and performances. At the same time, the scoreboard system makes it easy to manage the selection of different sports and attack clock times. In addition to scoreboard information, various content, such as advertisements, announcements, and other desired digital content, can be simultaneously displayed in the centre of the screen. The screen can also be used entirely for running content outside of matches.

Nivalan Monitoimihalli (Multi-purpose Hall) is a hub for various events, culture, and sports, completed in 2023. The multi-purpose arena has regulation-sized playing fields for sports such as volleyball, basketball, floorball, futsal, and badminton.
Into the still unfinished hall, we installed a large scoreboard, approximately 19 square metres in size, and shot clocks above the baskets. Thanks to the modern system, the hall's three existing smaller displays were integrated as part of the whole. The scoreboard system can also be flexibly controlled when the space is divided into different sections.
In addition to match results, the screens can be effectively utilised for digital advertising. The implemented totality creates an even better setting for the new multi-purpose hall.
The signs will communicate Ähtäri's events and services to locals and travellers. Multiple advertising screens utilising LED technology will communicate with passers-by at all hours of the day. A brighter screen was installed in Ähtäri facing south, and a screen achieving basic brightness was installed facing west.
Bright information displays
Effort has been put into brightness control, and the displays use different brightness profiles, with maximum brightness to account for variances. This way, we ensure the displays have suitable illumination at the right time of day and also when conditions change.

Ylöjärven Urheilutalo-Uimahalli (Swimming Hall), large LED screen
Ylöjärven Urheilutalo-Uimahalli (Sports Centre and Swimming Hall). This summer, we switched to LED, when a striking LED screen was installed on the swimming hall side during the summer maintenance. The installation work went smoothly in a very hot and humid working environment. The screen also has to withstand tough conditions due to humidity, which is why the components have been selected to withstand continuous moisture.
A large LED screen is an excellent choice for the Ylöjärvi swimming hall, especially as a lot of natural light floods into the space through the swimming hall's spacious window wall. In this space too, a brightness sensor has been installed to optimise the screen's brightness, and thus also energy consumption, to an optimal level at all times. The screen's brightness is managed remotely; if brightness levels need to be adjusted separately, this is done by Jidoka professionals. During the dark winter months, the sensor reduces the brightness to the level of the lights on indoors. For the nighttime, the screen is timed to switch off and on according to the swimming hall's opening hours, thus saving power when the screen is on while the hall is open.
The screen enables versatile communication in the space, including for example. Ylöjärvi's sports services reported about the screen on social media: ”A new LED screen was installed in Ylöjärvi swimming hall today. The screen will show virtual gym classes as usual and also serves as an information board.” Enjoy your gym sessions and swims!
Jidoka implemented a scoreboard for Jyväskylä's new Pesäpallo stadium Hippos (Finnish baseball stadium). The stadium, which opened in the summer of 2023, has up to 1850 covered spectator seats. Both junior and adult representative teams play at the stadium, but the main users are Jyväskylän Kiri and Kirittäret.
The large 22 m² scoreboard ensures visibility across the entire stadium, and the screen's resolution supports smooth following of the match situation. The clear and bright display allows for the effective presentation of game situations, results, and other event content to all spectators. A protective net was installed in front of the scoreboard to cushion balls directed towards the screen, thus keeping the screen protected from damage.
Hippos' new results board solution complements the stadium's modern facilities and offers a reliable package for both sports events and other occasions held at the stadium.

Renewing Tampereen Uintikeskus's of the old LED screen that showed print data, with a new, modern LED surface. The old screen had reached the end of its life after years of service.
We've updated the old location with a more accurate and slightly larger scoreboard to primarily display results during swimming competitions, and at other times, various content from different sources.
Peurungan jäähalli (Ice Hall), Vepe Center Peurunka – The ice hall is located in the immediate vicinity of the Peurunka Spa, thus offering a wide range of different services outside of ice time as well. The activity within the ice hall is also diverse, as users include figure skaters, ice hockey players, and synchronised skaters.
The spectator area has seating for 350 people who will be watching events and matches. The hall hosts, among other things, ice hockey 2nd division matches by Peurunka Gladiators. The hall has received an impressive new scoreboard, which is used for informing and advertising outside of matches. Read more information about advertising.
Low-flow solution
When a match or event ends, the scoreboard displays advertising material for a cloud service. The advertising takes into account changes in electricity prices, as everyone is interested in consumption when the screen is on and in use. We optimise the brightness levels suitable for the user for the screen, and when the hall closes, the screen also automatically dims.
New technology – New opportunities
Technically, the scoreboard was placed at the best viewing angle to be seen from the stands and player boxes. This meant that separate 15″ LCD screens were installed in the officials' boxes, which clearly show the information on the scoreboard to the officials and players in the penalty box, and the information is visible at all times.
In November 2021, Jidoka installed a 24m² LED screen at Keuda House's Kerava-sali, a versatile space. The bright and sharp display is extremely adaptable thanks to its ease of disassembly and reassembly. The same cabinets can be quickly assembled into a larger screen or a series of smaller display units, entirely depending on the requirements of each event and presentation. For the same cost, instead of one large screen, they acquired a versatile LED display that enhances the overall usability of the space – whether for a concert, stage production props, or for instance, a seminar.
The new screen was immediately put to use when, the weekend after installation, the hall hosted a memorial concert for Aikka Hakala:

”"”Delivery was made within an excellent timeframe, and the personnel who carried out the delivery performed their work excellently.”"” – Jussi Kaatrasalo, service manager, Keuda's meeting and event services
The delivery of the entire project went brilliantly and a satisfied customer praised both the quality of work and the staff's expertise. The screen can display video files in addition to pictures during all concerts and events, which bring an extra layer to the performance and entertain spectators without detracting from the performers.
The new ice sports center in Matinkylä, Ilmatar Areena, opened its doors to the public on November 1st, and Jidoka's latest displays were immediately on full view for everyone to admire. The complex, comprising 3 ice rinks, 2 gyms, and 2 sports halls, has taken significant steps towards carbon neutrality and is an important training and match venue, especially for ice hockey players. Carbon neutrality supports not only the environment but also the hobby activities of children and young people within the facilities.
The whole package at once
Jidoka supplied the new ice hall with several scoreboard screen sets, with both the smallest and largest scoreboards found next to the Ilmatar 1 ice rink. In addition to the screen surfaces, the package included Jidoka's easy-to-use control system, which is used to manage the screen content via dedicated touchscreens.
Jidoka's scoreboards have been designed from the outset to be a scoreboard system that anyone can use with a very short introduction. Our scoreboards are systematically eye-catching and versatile, and in addition to scoring, they can be used to generate additional income through advertising and display various media to the audience.
Easy-to-use and impressive scoreboard with multi-sport support
In addition to the Ilmatar Areena's scoreboards, Jidoka also supplied the management software for them. Currently, the scoreboard view is optimised for ice hockey, but ringette, volleyball, figure skating, and basketball are planned to be added to the range of supported sports in the near future. Furthermore, adding floorball, futsal, and handball is also in the pipeline.
The user can easily change both the score and clock settings. The display surfaces also allow for additional income through advertising during and outside of games. The system comes with a few default videos and sounds for different sports, but displaying your own material is also possible without any issues.
An unforgettable experience for the audience and players
The new displays at Ilmatar Areena are designed to be impressive and are capable of displaying all types of media during and outside of matches. The system's ease of use ensures that even amateur teams can upload their own player introductions and sponsor advertisements to the scoreboards during their games, as well as keep the audience informed of the game situation.
A giant Etola Group Etra Megacenter Pirkkala building has been constructed near the Pirkkala and Tampere motorway. People looking for industrial products and supplies, as well as building materials, are moving through the gleaming new corridors. The products on offer are also advertised externally on an 81m2 screen – with a P10 resolution LED display.
The massive 9,500 square metre office building also needs a large surface area to be visible to the nearby motorway. The size of the screen is well illustrated by the fact that the maintenance platforms behind the screen run the entire 7-metre length across three different floors. In the immediate vicinity is one of Pirkanmaa's busiest routes, with an average of 44,248 vehicles passing by per day (Source: Vayla.fi, 2019).
A giant LED screen allows for daily changing advertisements, for example. Compared to a banner advertisement, there are no costs associated with changing them, and all advertising material can be scheduled to be displayed remotely. The screen allows for instant reactions to events in the coming days and enables creative advertising design.
Concurrently with the material requiring design, we were also involved in the design of the large LED screen from the outset. This enabled us to find a location for the screen in conjunction with all parties involved that was structurally suitable and as visible and striking as possible. The ETRA Megacenter Pirkkala screen was completed at the optimal time before the holidays and the opening, which will be communicated impressively to passing vehicles via the screen. Overall, the project ran smoothly and the screen has received positive feedback from various sources.
A new landmark has arrived in Pirkkala.

Jidoka provided a simple and fast all-in-one solution for Mantunkulma.
Neste Mantunkulma, located in the centre of the developing Lempäälä. Approximately 31,000 vehicles per week travel in the busy area, which the entrepreneur wanted to reach as effectively as possible.
It was desired to advertise Neste Mantunkulma's services to potential customers and to display advertisements from other operators. The petrol station, situated in a prime location, was considered an ideal spot in the eyes of advertisers.
The customer had a clear vision and intention regarding the possibilities that the LED screen would bring. ”The purpose of the screen is to display our own advertisements and to sell advertising space,” concisely states Jani Seppälä, the entrepreneur of Neste Mantunkulma.
”In just a couple of years, the screen has paid for itself through advertising sales. The petrol station's location and how busy it is also interest advertisers.”
– Jani Seppälä, Entrepreneur, Neste Mantunkulma
Varying content will reach potential customers.
Collaboration with Jidoka began with the application for permits. The client received preliminary drawings and sketches of the area where the LED screen's effect would extend.
A service station located near several road routes and shops has gained significant visibility from an LED screen within the last few months. With an extremely precise P6 image resolution, it reaches motorists using the nearby road, and the screen's changing content allows for additional revenue from advertising sales. The service station's advertising screen therefore effectively reaches potential customers.
Turnkey package
The entrepreneur received positive feedback on the outdoor display from its procurement to its implementation. Jidoka handled everything from permits for the LED screen to smooth advertising launch, allowing the entrepreneur to focus on running their other business. ”We merchants are busy. The more ready-made the package I received, the easier it was,” states Seppälä.
We handle things such as permit applications and foundation work on your behalf, and if necessary, we can also assist with designing advertising materials, for example.
eCraft It is an internationally awarded IT company employing over 280 experts in Espoo, Tampere, Vaasa, Turku, and Malmö. The company is Finland's largest Microsoft Dynamics supplier and a leading Adaptive and Qlik consulting firm.
eCraft's offices were renovated in Säterinportti, Espoo, and as part of this, a large LCD video wall was built in the lobby. The client was looking for a high-quality, cost-effective solution that would suit the space for their new lobby. We were able to meet the tight delivery schedule, as the space, including the functioning video wall, needed to be completely ready in the coming months.
We sourced several different options from Jidoka in various size categories, after which we ordered a 2x2 video wall assembled from 55” panels that proved to be suitable.
The end result was what was expected from eCraft: ”The site supervision and communication during the project were exemplary. All questions were answered quickly, and the entire video wall matter was resolved swiftly!”
Located in the city of Sastamala, Ellivuori is a leisure center featuring a ski resort, a hotel, and a wide range of services. The area is situated on the scenic island of Salonsaari by Lake Rautavesi. Ellivuori is currently undergoing rapid growth and development, with new projects constantly under construction.
With an LED display, Ellivuori Resort effectively communicates current and future tourism services to visitors. The screen was attached to an existing pylon, reaching as many drivers as possible from afar. The hotel's advertising screen is mounted at a height that ensures it's visible to as many drivers as possible over a wide area. At an appropriate height, the LED screen's messages are clearly visible from various types of vehicles.
”"”The table has worked really well!”"”
– Susanna Hakala, Business Manager, Ellivuori
Susanna Hakala, business director, explained that the use of visuals and moving images has greatly enhanced design and the ideation of advertising material. An LED screen enables, among other things, the addition of weather information to the display, as well as images and videos. Weather information is particularly important in winter for users of the nearby ski resort. A multifaceted advertising video can also be shown on an LED screen. It instantly tells a potential customer more via video than text could convey and display. In video format, one image can convey more than a thousand words. ”An advertising display with changing content is a completely different matter to a ”cardboard sign”.”.
The export of advertisements from the idea stage to the display is also effortless and fast with Campaign Management Systems (CMS). ”Plans made with bullet points can be quickly transformed into actual eye-catchers on a tight schedule.” Advertising material can be updated remotely and modified quickly as needed. An LED display brings credibility to the area and the business. The device itself is a message that the area is moving forward and is part of development.
From our side, the installation was completed in half a day. The installation and systems have been configured for the customer to make usage as easy and effortless as possible.
We installed two LED screens inside the advertising pylon, with P4 and P10 resolutions, to attract passing motorists to the car wash.
XpressWash Turtola is a car wash chain. XpressWash Turtola's advantages include a 32-metre-long wash line, which guarantees a lightning-fast wash. The concept means that the customer doesn't need to get out of the car, and the car's pre-wash is done by hand. Visible results are created both inside the car wash and outside on the LED screen.
The surface areas of the LED displays are 5m² and 5.4m². A display with P4 resolution has been implemented on the entrance side, and P10 on the side facing the traffic. The resolution difference on different sides of the pylon is due to the difference in optimal viewing distance. On the P10 side, messages are communicated to passing cars and vehicles approaching from a distance, already from a long way off. The display on the entrance side is more precise, as customers drive right next to the display to enter the car wash, making it possible to advertise services to customers entering the car wash up close.
XpressWash Turtola is situated in an optimal location for placing LED screens. Vehicles drive past the car wash towards a commercial area, which houses the large Turtola shopping hub. People usually travel by car to shop, as the area contains several department stores, furniture shops, a shopping centre, and a vehicle inspection station, among other facilities. This allows the attention of the potential customer base to be captured by a large vertical screen.
When planning advertising, it is possible to create custom materials or use the same one on both sides. This allows tailoring messages to different sides, to new and existing customers. Material management is easy and fast, and changing situations can be reacted to quickly with the help of an LED screen.
XpressWash received training on the content management system, along with a wealth of tips and advice on content creation, as well as considerations and points to observe when advertising.
After the display was completed, XpressWash renewed its entire washing equipment during August 2019. During that time, the LED display was used to communicate the changed situation to customers, as well as the upcoming opening of the renovated wash bay in September. In changing situations, it is easy to communicate quickly with various offers or to inform about potential faults, for example. The car wash's LED displays have now been running for several months, showing a variety of information including offers, opening hours, and special announcements.
The service station located in Sastamala - Neste Häijää company expanded its outdoor advertising space with a wall-mounted LED screen at the car wash. The chosen location for the P6 LED screen was the end wall of the car wash, which also offers a view of the petrol station and the shopping centre's forecourt. The advertising screen replaced a static advertising board on the wall.
The aim of the display is to inform drivers arriving at the car wash about, among other things, the different wash options available and the services at the nearby petrol station. The car wash's LED display is positioned so that as many drivers entering the yard as possible can see the message on the screen. The size of the advertising display was chosen according to the installation site and the client's objectives. The height has been optimised so that as many people as possible queuing for a wash can see the advertisements and the car wash's instructions.
At peak times, cars can queue up. During these periods, impatient drivers waiting to be washed watch instructions or advertisements on the screen. With the right message, customers can be persuaded to visit the service station, for example, to get windshield washer fluid and make use of other services.
Entrepreneur Janne Jokinen says that the procurement has brought visible benefits. Sales at the petrol station have increased since the screen was installed.
”"”The procurement's aim is to effectively reach those queuing at the laundrette and motorists turning into the shopping centre's car park.”"”
”"”The advertising screen had captured the attention of passing motorists, and on the same day, the cushions were sold out. The right message at the right time has a big impact.”"”
– Janne Jokinen, Shopkeeper
Real-time advertising is growing
Being attuned to the timing is important in advertising, concerning both social media and large display surfaces. Jokinen says that there's a nice story about using LED screens from the first warm days last spring, when a large roadside screen on the side of the road showed the advertising text ”We have softies!” along with a picture of a softie. The advertising screen had caught the attention of passing drivers, and on the same day, the softies were sold out. The right message, at the right time, has a big impact. One must always be attuned to the timing, Jokinen adds.
It is important for busy petrol station operators that displays and systems function flawlessly. Sometimes there needs to be time for brainstorming alongside other daily tasks, as many things are ongoing at the same time. Advertising ideas that arise spontaneously should be quickly implemented on notice boards. Changing advertising material sparks interest among drivers when advertising that is relevant to the place and time has been produced.
Successfully to the wall
Janne Jokinen commented on the collaboration with Jidoka as follows: Regarding the large screens (previous LED displays Äijä and & Neste)We've had really good experiences with Jidoka, which is why we bought a new one through them too. Responses to customer service messages and queries were received quickly.
The latest addition, the car wash LED display, is impressive and has been working well. In addition, all the work done in preparation for the LED display has proceeded according to schedule, which is important to us, knowing who to trust when it comes to advertising displays.

Munkkiniemen Seurakunta (Parish), Munkkivuoren Kirkko (Church)
Video wall for a church
Munkkiniemen Seurakunta purchased a 3x3 video wall to Munkkivuoren Kirkko. The aim was to offer churchgoers, as well as future users, modern visual experiences as part of the overall concept. Before installation, the entire setup was carefully planned, taking measurements from the site and inspecting the installation location. Before the proposal, photographs were taken of the site, and a draft image was provided of the final proposal, showing what different solutions would look like at the location.
A custom mounting solution was made for the Munkkivuoren Kirkko, onto a brick wall. By designing together, the best possible location was chosen. With a sufficiently large video wall, a surface area of the right size was created in the space, which is sure to be visible all the way to the back row.
We interviewed parish vicar Leo Glad asking for his comments and feelings after several months of use.
From idea to action
The whole idea has been simmering in the background for a long time for Vicar Glad. The idea gained momentum again when the management team visited London and Manchester. – We saw how in the living and growing churches there, in all of them, they had these video walls. We dreamed with the leadership team that maybe one day we would want one too.
Versatile use
The video wall was put to good use immediately when Munkkivuoren Kirkko hosted the MunkkaLove music event, which appealed to visual and auditory senses. – At MunkkaLove, people from the area were asked for their song requests. We hired an orchestra and invited people to events; the churches were completely full three times, and a crucial part of these was this video wall. During the events, the wall displayed interviews, song lyrics, pictures of the original performers, etc.
The video wall enabled versatile use of the space, with wireless solutions allowing the choir or the organist's playing to be showcased via the screen. The large screen also allows special events to be highlighted even better, for example in children's Christmas plays.
A large surface, along with lighting, can also strongly appeal to emotions. It makes it an even more powerful experience. Just yesterday I was looking at a situation where if there was nothing like this, then as this is such a big church, you are far away and cannot see the child's expressions properly.
The arrival of the video wall has also brought increased enthusiasm for planning. – When I know up to half a year in advance when it's my turn to preach, I start thinking about the topic visually. The acquisition has brought new enthusiasm. At the same time, new ideas have also emerged regarding the versatile use of the church, ranging from screening major sporting events to film series with a Christ theme.
After we had agreed on the installation and delivery with Jidoka, that's how it went. The video wall turned out to be quite successful. One might think that installing a large video wall could easily spoil such a sacred space in a church. But in this case, working together, they found a place for it that makes it even better. A simple and clear process.
– Leo Glad, Vicar
Message-first communication
We wanted to reach a younger demographic, in this day and age where we've become accustomed to this kind of visual communication. Our culture has become very visual, visual communication is everywhere: on televisions, trams, in shopping centres or on social media. It's part of people's lives, they've become used to receiving and reading messages visually.
The tool is a message, the fact that we have such a tool in itself tells that we are trying to take the operating environment seriously, that we are living this life just like everyone else.
– The aim with this visual aspect is not so much to achieve understanding, but rather to reach an emotional level, to generate emotional experiences. In this, the visual aspect and music are very much of this time.
The video screen is not an end in itself, but merely a tool. It is a tool with which we try to reach people and become relevant in people's lives. In that respect, the church's position has changed; it's not enough for the church to simply exist, people need to *experience* what it has to offer. That's what draws people in.”
Vicar Glad emphasizes the importance of the message – Showcasing great photos and videos isn't the end goal in itself, but rather a tool for engaging people and bringing meaning and purpose, help and support, joy and sorrow, into people's lives.
The Häijään Äijä Kauppakeskus (Shopping Centre) got its own advertising screen at the beginning of the year when a 21.5m² LED advertising screen was placed next to the shopping centre's wall. The LED advertising screen is designed to advertise Häijään Äijä's services to those travelling on the Sastamala road, as well as to residents and travellers in the town who turn into the Neste and shop's yard.
Variations in ambient brightness were taken into account with automatic brightness control, which brightens the screen when bathed in sunlight and dims it to an appropriate level in the dark. This ensures the LED screen's image remains sharp and is clearly visible to customers arriving in the yard.
It was decided to raise the advertising screen as high as possible to achieve maximum visibility for the displayed content. Vehicles move between the shopping centre and the neighbouring Neste petrol station from various directions, but the screen located on the entrance side of the yard area is clearly visible thanks to its wide viewing angle. The frame, designed for the location and built by hand by Jidoka, was securely attached to the shopping centre's structures, ensuring it doesn't move even in strong stormy winds.
The advertising screen's content is updated remotely. Changing the advertisements has been made easy for the customer. Pre-scheduled content, special offers, and weather information can be updated with just a few clicks. The customer received user training for content management. Additionally, Jidoka supports and monitors the screen's operation as part of the delivered overall solution.
Advertising screen subscriber Janne Jokinen describes the connection between the sales event and the outcome of the screen: ”What Jidoka's employees promise – they also deliver.”.
In December 2018, Jidoka Technologies Oy delivered a video wall approximately 2.2 metres wide and 1.2 metres high, consisting of four 49” Full HD panels. The LCD video wall was installed in our meeting rooms as part of our video conferencing system. The delivery included the hardware, its installation, and an operational training.
The Jidoka employees were active and interested in us from start to finish. All our follow-up questions were answered quickly and thoroughly. From the outset, the honest and open discussion, as well as the genuine desire to serve us, impressed us. The quality of the solution met our requirements, and its price was competitive. These factors led to our decision to procure the video wall we needed from Jidoka.
The Student Village of Turku is a student housing complex managed by the Student Village Foundation of Turku, located in the Nummi district. A 3.9m² display, which can be used to monitor energy production and current information, was delivered to Finland's largest student housing complex.
The screen, installed in 2018, was placed in front of the Aitiopaikka residential block of the student village. The precise screen (P4) guarantees that notices and advertisements are visible from afar.
”"”We needed to get an accurate exterior display with a fast delivery time for the new Student Village Foundation of Turku (TYS) to the Aitiopaikka apartment complex. The information screen provided by Jidoka allows you to follow the energy produced by the solar panels in real-time, as well as announcements from us and our partners.
We are unreservedly satisfied with the delivery of the Jidoka, both in terms of delivery time and the quality of the display system.”

Neste Häijää – Sastamala's largest outdoor exhibition
Sastamala's largest outdoor screen was implemented at Neste Häijää service station. Neste Häijää is a versatile Neste service station located in Sastamala, offering comprehensive service station facilities. The LED outdoor screen, built by Jidoka Technologies Ltd, measures 21.5m², and is comprised of 28 modules, forming a complete display unit. The screen measures 3.2 metres high and 6.72 metres wide. The screen is directed towards traffic on national road 11 coming from Pori, pointing towards the roundabout. The LED advertising screen has a P10 resolution, meaning the optimal viewing experience is from over 10 metres away. The total weight of the LED units is 1120 kg, several hundred metres of cable were laid, and 47 cups of coffee were consumed during the installation work.
A giant digital roadside screen effectively reaches passing road users. Neste Häijää effortlessly advertises its own and its partners' products and services on the screen.
Häijään Neste’s Janne Jokinen is excited about the acquisition. Jokinen believes the display will bring in more customers and new opportunities. Jokinen thinks the collaboration with Jidoka has gone excellently.
With good advance planning, the best result
The design of the advertising display began in collaboration six months prior, including several reviews of suitable locations and always taking the client's wishes into account. Before being delivered to the client, the display was tested under existing conditions at Jidoka's office. The brightness levels of the advertising display were pre-adjusted based on weeks of testing. The brightness automatically adjusts according to the surrounding brightness. The environment is monitored by a camera that takes measurements of the light at specific intervals, and based on this, adjusts the brightness to a pre-set level. We considered it extremely important that the display was adjusted and tested correctly right from the start, so that there would be no potential disturbance for drivers at night.
Before installation, the client was provided with a precise schedule for the installation work and immediate updates if any specific details regarding the installation became available. The assembly and installation of the screen took a total of 2 days. On the first day, the metal frame was installed in place, to which the LED outdoor screen units were attached. On the same day, the LED outdoor screen's control computer was set up for material display, and user training was provided. On the second day of installation, the cables between the cabinets were connected, and the frame's details were finalised. On-site testing, connection of the light sensor, and confirmation that everything was working as it should were also carried out.
On the third day, further fine-tuning and material scheduling were carried out for the client, to ensure future use is as smooth and easy as possible.
We created a remote connection for advice, allowing us to react quickly and help the customer if needed. Support doesn't end with the completion of the display, as we are always ready to help the customer.

Nokian Pyry introduced a new video wall acquired from Jidoka. The installation was completed just in time for the Mestis Goes Business -event held on November 22nd, 2017. The same day featured a Suomi-sarja match between Nokian Pyry and Kaarina Indians, which ended in a home team victory after a hard-fought battle. Overall, the evening was a great success — including the performance of the new display wall.
Technically, the display wall offers a razor-sharp image, fast response time, and brightness suitable for ice rink conditions. Wide viewing angles allow for clear visibility of content from almost anywhere in the rink. The solution was implemented with a custom mounting, ensuring the display is at an optimal height for spectators. Thanks to the assembled panels, the display wall is also easily expandable as needed.
With the help of a display wall, Nokian Pyry can offer an even higher quality match event at the Suomi-Sarja level. It enables impressive player introductions, crowd engagement, and the showcasing of diverse advertising and video material. As an investment, the solution is long-lasting, versatile, and cost-effective.
Collaboration and delivery with Jidoka have been effortless; they are committed to serving the customer according to their needs and delivering products on schedule. We have become acquainted with several Jidoka employees during the process, and they are all united by a warm customer service attitude.
Our intention is to continuously develop video wall content, utilising its capabilities with diverse videos and animations.
I can recommend a similar solution for all other companies and organisations involved in credible sports activities, and Jidoka as a supplier.
We implemented display solutions supplied by Jidoka Technologies Oy in our store at Koskikeskus, Tampere, at the beginning of December 2016. Our goal was to capture the attention of shopping centre visitors with our striking advertising material and more effectively guide them to our store to make purchases. We succeeded in this goal very well, and this particular solution was immediately evident as a strong increase in Christmas sales. Based on the results, we estimate that the solution will pay for itself within the first year of use.
As a supplier and partner for in-store visual communication solutions, Jidoka Technologies Oy is accurate, reliable, and provides excellent service. Jidoka has supported us in finalising advertising materials and has been quick and flexible in uploading new materials to our Display Wall. Cooperation with Jidoka has gone excellently, and we intend to acquire more in-store visual communication solutions from Jidoka. I warmly recommend Jidoka Technologies Oy as a supplier of visual communication solutions.
Giant tablet
We have made progress with Aukia in line with their wishes, and have occasionally highlighted the latest innovations in Digital Signage. We supplied a 43″ Giant Tablet to the Tampere Aukia store to serve customers even better. We previously wrote in more detail about bringing an online store into a physical shop. Read Timo's thoughts, now that the Giant Tablet has been assisting in the store for several months:
The large 'Jidoka' tablet in the store, located in close proximity to the fitting room area, serves effectively as both a support for sales staff and customers in showcasing the product range. Through the tablet, a sales assistant can easily present customers with various product options and availability information, not only from their own store but also from the chain's and the online shop's selections. The user-friendly interface has also ensured that customers can independently explore the store's current promotions and new product arrivals.

84″ Giant Display Tower
We delivered an 84” horizontal Giant Display Tower to the clothing store to attract customers to Aukia's Kamppi store in Helsinki. Aukia Menswear is a fashion house for men, established in 1956.
Aukia's Kamppi store commissioned an eye-catching advertising display solution from us to attract passers-by to their store on the 4th floor. The chosen location was as visible as possible, right by the entrance, offering a direct view from the escalators on the upper floor. This allows for effective material to capture the attention of people passing by.

Our double-sided wireless display tower was used as an information medium at the RekryIT event organised by Osuuskunta Droppi in October in Turku.
Veli-Pekka Virtanen, a member of Osuuskunta Droppi, commented on the added value brought by our solution:
”"”The display tower was placed next to the information desk, and those running the information desk felt it projected a very professional image, thereby elevating the event and our profile.”"”

Kauniaisten palloiluhalli (Sports Hall) – Scoreboard system
Kauniainen Sports Hall
A multi-screen display was installed at the Kauniainen Sports Hall scoreboard system. The hall's spectator area can accommodate over 500 spectators who can enjoy top-tier matches in sports such as handball and floorball. The facility also offers other versatile recreational opportunities, such as wall climbing and gymnastics.
Kauniaisten palloiluhalli (sports hall) has been developed several times, most recently now that Jidoka supplied a new LED scoreboard with multi-sport support. The scoreboard includes handball and floorball sport support, among other features. The system comprises several different display surfaces, including a large main scoreboard of 7.3m.2 32″ LCD screens intended for both players and coaches. As the main scoreboard is located above the officials and players, facing the main stand, separate 32” screens were implemented for both dugouts to facilitate an easier overview of the situation. The match information displayed for the players is clear, making it visible during fast-paced match situations.
All of this is managed with a couple of touchscreens, with one operator handling the game situations themselves and another touchscreen taking care of audience entertainment and other matters. This helps the person responsible for audience entertainment to sense the atmosphere, for example, by sitting amongst the audience, thus keeping them in tune with the situation.
The large, 7.3m2 LED screen is tilted at an optimal viewing angle towards the main audience, ensuring an exceptional viewing experience.
Protection and maintenance considered
The screens are protected by safety glass, so the glass absorbs impacts from any errant balls. The operating environment was taken into account at the facility, for example, the resin used in handball can spread to various surfaces in the hall, making the surface of the safety glass easier to clean than resin directly on the panel.
The scoreboard itself is protected by thick plexi glass from various kinds of sports balls.
Listening to users and developing further
The screen is in heavy use during local sports club matches, including GrIFK. handball and floorball. The display allows for videos tailored to different sports and clubs, as well as ad placements during matches. It is also possible to show videos of special events and short video clips to entertain the audience.
The software has been further developed, based on both Jidoka's software development and customer feedback. The result is an evolved, more versatile scoreboard solution that is more functional for end-users.

Leppävirran jäähalli (Ice Rink) – Digital scoreboard
Vesileppis, Leppävirta Ice rink– We supplied a striking new digital scoreboard, a special feature of which is the ability to display the score information for two games simultaneously. This feature, particularly suitable for junior games, simplifies the work of officials and helps keep everyone updated on matches being played on multiple rinks. At the same time, the advertising area at the centre of the scoreboard can be used to communicate to ice hall spectators about other services at the spa centre and current campaigns – this maximises the directing of customers to the facilities of the Sport & Spa Hotel Vesileppis within the busy 400-seat ice hall.
Versatile use – from hobbyists to the professional racing scene
In tournament-style matches, the scoreboard can display a variety of information, including match schedules, dining, accommodation, and not forgetting the awarding of winners. Player introductions made before the match, for example, can be repeated on the screen. Advertisements can also be removed entirely if desired, if the score information takes up too much of the small players' attention.
When the home team scores, the goal song can be combined with a modern goal video that plays beautifully full-screen. Each team can bring their own materials to home games, creating an even better atmosphere in the arena when a goal is scored. Best of all, the Leppävirta ice rink gets to enjoy a modern scoreboard for everyone from the youngest juniors to the senior teams, and from amateur leagues to professionals.
With technology being so modern, the audience is entertained too
Technically, the digital scoreboard was placed in the best viewing position for the players, referees, and especially the spectators. In a game with flying pucks, the scoreboard, protected by strong and highly transparent Plexiglas, will not be disturbed.
Positive feedback has also been received from users regarding the use of the system.”It looks good, at least the first taste does”and Jidoka's service regarding suggestions for development related to the scoreboard and updates.
New Finnish baseball scoreboard for Rauma, TopTeam Arena – Jidoka's easy to use scoreboard system .
In Rauma, Finnish baseball (pesäpallo) is played at the Otanlahti pesäpallostadioni (baseball stadium)by Fera's women’s team in the top-tier Superpesis league, as well as by hobbyists and juniors of all ages. The scoreboard's advantage is that the same features from the entire scoreboard are available for every user group. Nevertheless, usage remains easy and control is immediate. At the same time, other features, such as displaying advertisements and various video files, can be removed or enabled without significantly changing usability. Once the match event is over, the screen returns to advertisement & information mode; the advertising content can be updated via the cloud from anywhere.
The advertisements on the centre of the scoreboard offer viewers further information about the sports clubs' sponsors. The display can be used versatilely, as after the match, its entire surface area functions as an advertising space. The display enables the visualisation of various situations for customers, such as running race starts, bases loaded, and home run videos by easily playing them from a list. All controlled by a single operator.
Energy-saving features have been implemented by Jidoka tailoring optimal brightness levels for the display, ensuring it's at an appropriate brightness in all weather conditions. This has also been communicated and considered for customers regarding advertising materials, as well as the display's appearance, favouring darker colours. The scoreboard is also timed to be off during certain hours, thus saving electricity during quieter periods.
The best is done together
The decision was made to place the scoreboard near third base, ensuring the display is at a suitable distance from the stands, players, and spectators. The long length of the baseball field causes many headaches. A display in the outfield would require a truly large surface area for the visibility to be as good as it is now.
The screen is also protected from balls that might come towards it directly or indirectly. The protective netting catches the biggest bounces, so the balls do not reach the screen.
Listening to customers
The scoreboard display was further customised to be even more functional for the baseball stadium, listening to the client's needs. The end result received praise from the clients:
”The scoreboard looks good. The fantastic videos we made were shown at the last match, and judging by the crowd's reaction, they were seen too!”
”Our initial impression is that we received the desired solution; the scoreboard section is user-friendly and clear to view, and the stand/board structures look good and feel high-quality. You had even managed to add a protective net, which is great! The installation and delivery went as agreed.”
After the scoreboard system has been installed, the scoreboard is under 24/7 remote monitoring, enabling customers to be assisted as quickly as possible in various situations. It's easy to be satisfied after a spectacular and modern scoreboard delivery.

Äänekosken Kiinteistönhoito. Two large and striking video walls have been installed in the meeting rooms. In varying lighting conditions, the video walls are visible to all meeting participants, even when the room has a lot of natural light. Combined with wireless information sharing, the LCD video walls are the perfect companion for meetings.
Combined with Jidoka's expertise and the client's needs, a cost-effective solution was found. Building the video walls went smoothly for the installation crew and both parties were satisfied with the end result.
Äänekoski gets an innovative scoreboard system for its ice rink
Jidoka has installed a multi-display system in the new Äänekosken Jäähalli (Ice Rink). As a result of development work, one of the world's most energy-efficient ice rinks earned an innovative scoreboard system. The new technology enables communication and advertising to the ice rink's audience and other arriving visitors.
An innovative scoreboard system transforms to perfectly suit any sport and event. During matches and competitions, all on-screen elements adapt to each sport, while outside of sporting events, the LED display surfaces show advertisements according to set schedules.
Screens installed in the ice rink:
Exterior wall name display
Small scoreboard (1.8m²)
Large scoreboard (11.1 m²)
Controlling the displays is possible with any touchscreen, and anyone can learn to use the system in an instant.
In addition to scoreboards, the ice rink's name sign is also digital. This allows, for example, for the hall's name to be sold or for moving elements to be used on the light sign.
Overall, the installations went smoothly. In a challenging installation environment, the use of the ice rink was taken into consideration to minimise disruption for the ice rink users. Jidoka has also provided support and updated the scoreboard functions based on feedback after the installation.
In Äänekoski, digitisation has been taken at a stroke to the level it deserves.
